Senate Approves Olukoyede and Hammajoda as Chairman and Secretary of EFCC
The Nigerian Senate has given its confirmation for Ola Olukoyede to serve as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Additionally, Muhammad Hammajoda has been approved as the Secretary of the anti-graft agency.
Earlier, it was reported that Olukoyede, accompanied by some members of the Commission’s management staff, visited the National Assembly. Following their screening by the upper chamber on Wednesday, the Senate officially confirmed both individuals for their respective positions. The appointments were made by President Bola Tinubu and are initially for a renewable term of four years.
Olukoyede’s assumption of the role of EFCC Chairman comes approximately four months after the suspension of the previous chairman, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, by President Tinubu.
