On Monday, residents of Lagos State took to the streets to voice their dissatisfaction with the increasing levels of hardship in the country.

The protest, which was organised by the ‘Take It Back Movement,’ a human rights group, saw demonstrators gathering at the Ojuelegba Under Bridge area of the state. Holding placards with various inscriptions expressing their grievances, the protesters aimed to draw attention to the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.

This demonstration occurred just hours before the scheduled mass protest planned for February 27 and 28 by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC). The NLC’s planned protest is expected to address broader issues, including mounting hunger and insecurity in Nigeria.

The presence of multiple protests reflects the growing frustration among Lagos residents and the wider Nigerian population regarding the prevailing hardships. People are demanding better living conditions, improved economic opportunities, and effective measures to tackle the increasing challenges faced by the nation.
