Contrary to recent reports, a source from the presidency has denied that Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, was summoned by President Bola Tinubu concerning the controversy surrounding alleged financial infractions by the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The Interior Minister has been implicated in certain financial transactions with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs through a company in which he was reportedly interested. It has been alleged that this company received a contract worth over N400 million from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

While the Interior Minister did meet with the President on Tuesday afternoon, the specific details of the meeting agenda were not publicly disclosed.

Sources close to the Minister have refuted the claims that he was summoned, asserting that such reports are unfounded. One source emphasized the intelligence of the individuals involved, stating, “We are too intelligent to be stupid.”
