The Redeemed Christian Church of God is causing a stir as its lead pastor, Pastor Adeboye, gains popularity due to a viral statement.

A video, initially shared on the church’s social media platforms, shows Adeboye delivering a sermon and praying for his congregants. However, one particular prayer caught the attention of numerous internet users and Nigerians.

He proclaimed that from that point forward, the colleagues of all the congregants would approach them for food. He confidently stated, “Your colleagues will be coming to you for food.” But he didn’t stop there. He further revealed that even within their own families, they would become the go-to individuals for assistance.

Some internet users raised questions about this prayer, expressing concerns that while it may seem beneficial, it could be seen as benefiting from someone else’s hardships.

Others commented that they would prefer to grow together with everyone around them, suggesting that a better prayer would be to wish prosperity for everyone rather than praying for people to rely on them for help.
