Olamide Adedeji, the Nigerian singer commonly known as Olamide, has received his first-ever GRAMMY nomination, sending his fans into a state of euphoria.

Olamide earned this nomination alongside his signee, Awake, for their featured music in the Amapiano genre. The duo has been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, alongside Davido’s “Unavailable” and Burnaboy’s “City Boys.”

Recalling the significant impact Olamide has had on his career, fast-rising Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, shared an emotional reaction online that garnered widespread attention.

An old video resurfaced, capturing the extraordinary moment when Asake burst into tears upon Olamide’s involvement in one of his songs and subsequently signing him under the YBNL record label. The video also showcased an elated Asake running through the streets, celebrating the success of his track.
