Northern Group Commends Tinubu for Removing Pam as NCPC Boss

The Northern Coalition for Good Governance (NCGG) has expressed its appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive action in removing Rev. Yakubu Pam from his position as the head of the Nigeria Christians Pilgrimage Commission (NCPC). In a statement released today in Yola, Dr. Emmanuel Yohanna, the group’s spokesperson, asserted that the President’s action has reignited hope among Nigerians, demonstrating his determination to eradicate corruption in the country.

The NCGG urged the public to disregard the purported statement issued by a group of northern elders criticising Pam’s removal. Dr. Yohanna questioned the credibility of these supposed elders, highlighting their absence during previous controversies involving Pam. He pointed out instances where Pam’s own church, the Assemblies of God, sacked him and reported him to the Plateau State government. Additionally, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) accused Pam of misappropriating funds allocated for Adamawa State pilgrimages, resulting in disappointment for the affected individuals in Rome. Dr. Yohanna suggested that this alleged group of northern elders is advocating for corruption rather than acting in the best interests of the nation.

The NCGG called upon President Tinubu to continue pursuing his Renewed Hope Agenda and disregard the ambitions of political job seekers. The statement reiterated the group’s commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s administration and working towards restoring Nigeria’s status as the leading nation in Africa. The NCGG emphasized that President Tinubu’s government has demonstrated the capability to rescue the country from the clutches of nepotism, corruption, and a stagnant economy.

Furthermore, the group urged Nigerian youth and women to actively support the current administration for their own benefit and that of future generations.
