In saddening news, reports have surfaced claiming that Nollywood actor Mr. Ibu has passed away, following the circulation of a viral WhatsApp message online.

After a prolonged and arduous health battle, the esteemed actor from Nollywood appears to have succumbed to illness. The viral WhatsApp conversation, widely shared on social media, features a medical professional disclosing to a friend that Mr. Ibu passed away at Evercare Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for several months.

Recall that in October last year, news emerged that Mr. Ibu had undergone five surgeries and was facing further medical procedures. Videos circulated showing him appealing for financial assistance, highlighting the risk of losing his legs without urgent funding. Sadly, despite efforts to rebound from the surgery, one of his legs was eventually amputated.

In December 2023, misinformation spread suggesting both of Mr. Ibu’s legs had been amputated, which his family swiftly corrected. They clarified that only one leg was amputated and dismissed claims that diabetes caused his illness, revealing instead that he had been battling blood clotting in his leg.

While Mr. Ibu’s immediate family has yet to address his reported passing on social media, our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult period.
