Naira Marley and Sam Larry Take Legal Action Against Magistrate and Police, Seeking 40 Million in Compensation

Controversial Nigerian musician Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Samson Eletu, also referred to as Sam Larry, have initiated legal proceedings against the Magistrate and Police, challenging their prolonged detention.

It should be recalled that Naira Marley and Sam Larry were accused of physically assaulting the late singer Mohbad, which led to their arrest and subsequent remand by the police.

According to reliable sources, both Naira Marley and Sam Larry have filed a lawsuit asserting their fundamental rights and contesting their continued incarceration.

The lawsuit was filed at the Federal High Court in Lagos, naming the police and the magistrate as defendants. It is worth noting that Lagos magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun had previously ordered their detention for a period of 21 days.

The duo is currently seeking £20,000 individually as compensation for damages.

The lawsuit has sparked widespread discussion, with some expressing support for Naira Marley and Sam Larry, while others have highlighted the serious accusations of murder that led to their detention.
