Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has signed a bill into law, establishing the Community Guards Corps in the state.

The governor hailed the bill as a significant milestone in his administration’s commitment to ensuring the security and development of Sokoto State.

The primary objective of enacting this bill is to address the prevailing challenges of kidnappings, banditry, and other forms of criminal activities in the state. Governor Aliyu emphasized that the establishment of the Community Guards Corps is part of a collective effort to combat insecurity and foster collaboration with neighboring states.

Expressing his gratitude to the members of the State House of Assembly for their support in actualizing this initiative, Governor Aliyu emphasized that the Corps’ establishment aims to create a collaborative mechanism with existing security agencies.
