During a courtesy visit by representatives of the students union, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto made a promising declaration.

He assured students hailing from the state that his administration will prioritize their needs and be supportive of the youth population.

Governor Aliyu emphasized his dedication to enhancing the education sector as one of the key focal points of his administration. Recognizing the importance of education, he pledged to actively work towards its improvement and development.

This assurance from the governor serves as a beacon of hope for students in Sokoto, instilling confidence that their interests and well-being will be considered in the decisions and policies put forth by the administration. With a student-friendly approach, Governor Aliyu aims to create an environment that nurtures and empowers the youth, fostering their educational growth and success.

He said, “It is true that the current government in the state is for you students. 

“I want to use this medium to remind you that when I was seeking votes, I have nine-point agenda which includes education, and the health sector among others. 

“Talking about your problem concerning school registration, scholarships among many others, our administration by the grace of God will do the needful very soon” 

During his address, the governor took the opportunity to issue a stern warning to all students across the state. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive image for Sokoto and urged students to refrain from participating in any activities that could tarnish the reputation of their community. Specifically, the governor cautioned against associating with gangs, whether within the school premises or outside.

Additionally, in response to the concerns raised by the visiting students, Governor Aliyu promptly reached out to the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Professor Lawal Suleman Bilbis. He requested an extension of the registration periods for the students, acknowledging the challenges they were facing.

Demonstrating his commitment to resolving the registration issues, the governor assured the students that he would personally visit the university to engage in direct discussions with the school management. By doing so, he aimed to find the best possible solutions to address the challenges faced by the students and ensure a smoother registration process.

Governor Aliyu’s proactive response to the students’ demands not only highlights his dedication to their welfare but also underscores his willingness to actively engage with the education system. By personally involving himself in finding solutions, he aims to alleviate the registration difficulties faced by the students, fostering an environment conducive to their academic success.
