Iyabo Ojo, a popular Nollywood actress, has finally responded to the lawsuit filed against her by singer Naira Marley, seeking N500 million in damages. Last week, Vistanaij Media reported on the legal action taken by Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Adeshina Fashola. He demanded a public apology from Iyabo Ojo, warning that failure to comply could result in a lawsuit seeking N500 million in compensation.

In his legal complaint, Naira Marley accused the actress, who is a mother of two, of defaming him. He claimed that she had published false and malicious content about him on her Instagram page. Iyabo Ojo has now responded to the lawsuit, expressing her disappointment that Naira Marley’s legal team did not personally serve her with the lawsuit but instead chose to disseminate it online.

Unfazed by the situation, the courageous actress has taken her own legal action by filing a counterclaim against Naira Marley. She alleges that he failed to properly serve her with the lawsuit either in person or by mail, which she views as a potential act of blackmail. In her counterclaim, Iyabo Ojo is seeking N1 billion in damages from the singer, accusing him of deliberately misleading the public.
