INEC Sets Date for Saki Rerun Election in Oyo State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled Saturday, 3rd February 2024, as the date for a rerun election in two polling units within the Saki West State Constituency of the Oyo State House of Assembly.

This decision was communicated through a statement issued by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Dr. Rahman Adeniran Tella.

According to the REC’s statement, the rerun election is being conducted in compliance with a court order. The affected polling units are Odo-osun 007 in the Ogidigbo area and Ogbalanja polling unit 019 in the Sepeteri/Bapon registration area.

Only eligible voters with valid permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) who are registered in the two affected areas will be allowed to participate in the rerun election. The Biomodel Accreditation System (BVAS) will be deployed for the exercise.

The REC urged the election candidates to commence their campaigns immediately.
