Musa Adamu Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has called upon Nigerian students to take on the role of whistleblowers.

He emphasized that students have a crucial part to play as agents of change in combating corruption, particularly within educational institutions.

Aliyu made this appeal during the inauguration of 30 Students Anti-Corruption Clubs in 30 schools located in the Federal Capital Territory. He highlighted the fact that students often witness instances of corruption firsthand, such as teachers demanding bribes, engaging in sextortion, or being absent from their duties. Therefore, it is essential for students to utilize their energy and determination to bring about a positive transformation.

As future leaders of Nigeria, Aliyu stressed the importance of using their choices, voices, and determination to promote integrity and excellence in schools. He encouraged students to act as whistleblowers by reporting corrupt practices to the ICPC. By speaking out against wrongdoing, students become catalysts for change, accountability, and transparency within the educational system.

The ICPC Chairman’s message aimed to inspire students to actively participate in the fight against corruption and contribute to building a better future for Nigeria.
