Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has announced the establishment of a committee dedicated to organizing a dignified burial for the late governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Aiyedatiwa made this statement during a condolence visit from Oba Yusuf Adeleye, the Olubaka of Oka, in Akure.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his deep respect for Akeredolu, referring to him as a friend, brother, leader, and the governor he deputized for three years. He highlighted Akeredolu’s significant impact on the state and the various initiatives he implemented to improve the lives of the people. Recognizing that Akeredolu passed away while serving as governor, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that he deserves a state burial.

Stating that Akeredolu’s contributions will not be forgotten, Governor Aiyedatiwa shared his admiration for the purposeful life the late governor led. He assured that the state is prepared to honor him accordingly and that a committee has already been established. The governor further mentioned that they are awaiting the immediate family’s confirmation of a date for the burial, as they are ready to proceed with the arrangements.
