Filmmaker Sam Olatunji slams Ayra Starr for apologizing to King Sunny Ade and calling him “Uncle”

Nigerian filmmaker Sam Olatunji, also known as Sam Olatunji, has criticized singer Ayra Starr for her apology to the renowned musician King Sunny Ade.

Earlier, Vistanaij Media reported that Ayra Starr faced online criticism for her perceived disrespect towards King Sunny Ade at the Heineken Afrozons Pre-Grammy Party on Friday night.

In a viral video, Ayra Starr, dressed in her distinctive revealing attire, appeared to ignore Burna Boy’s mother and instead greeted a woman seated beside her. Ayra then proceeded to greet King Sunny Ade while standing and shook hands with him.

Her behavior sparked backlash, prompting Ayra Starr to issue a sincere apology on her Twitter page. She referred to King Sunny Ade as her uncle and explained her actions, emphasizing her upbringing as a respectful Yoruba girl.

In response, Sam Olatunji slammed Ayra Starr for addressing King Sunny Ade as her uncle.

Actress Yvonne Jegede, defending states that probably she didn’t know who he was. She wrote, “No way. She definitely didn’t know who he is”.

Sam Olatunji replied, “Believe me that’s my conclusion too”.
