Davido, the award-winning Nigerian singer, has spoken out about the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke. In a heartfelt interview with CNN, the singer became emotional as he discussed his son’s untimely death.

During the interview, Davido revealed that the grieving process had impacted his album. The loss of his son had left him struggling to find the motivation and inspiration to create music.

The singer’s openness about his experience with loss sheds light on the emotional toll it can take on an individual, particularly a parent who has lost a child. His willingness to share his story may offer comfort to others who have also experienced loss and let them know that they are not alone in their grief

According to him, he had finished the album before the tragic loss, which made him take a step back.

“Before my son passed, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation and I had to calm myself down and take a step back”.

He stated that he and his wife, Chioma Rowland didn’t deserve that.

Nobody would want that. And everybody knows that I and Chioma didn’t deserve that”.

Speaking on his return, Davido credits it to the love he received from his fans, family, friends, and loved ones.

“At some point, I couldn’t open my Instagram for weeks. One day, I just checked it and I saw messages from every kind of person in the world. I was like you’re fine, you see everybody is rooting for you. That was one thing that made me strong enough to stand up again, get back in the studio, and do what I love”
