The Plateau chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sent felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria, urging them to offer fervent prayers for peace, unity, and stability of the polity and the nation. Chief Rufus Bature, the Chairman of Plateau APC, made this call in a goodwill message that was signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Sylvanus Namang, and released to the press on Friday in Jos.

Bature noted that the 2023 Eid-el-Fitr celebration was unique as it comes in the wake of a transition program, where new sets of elected leaders would be sworn in to take charge of the affairs of the country at the national and state levels. The APC chairman emphasized the importance of prayers in ensuring a smooth and successful transition process.

He further encouraged Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to reflect on the virtues of love, peace, and unity, which are essential for the progress and development of Nigeria. Bature reiterated the APC’s commitment to promoting these values and called on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, to work together towards building a strong, united, and prosperous nation.

In conclusion, Bature extended warm wishes to all Muslims on behalf of the Plateau APC, and urged them to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to strengthen their faith, renew their commitment to peaceful coexistence, and pray for the continued peace and stability of Nigeria’s polity.

“The Eid-el-Fitri is coming at the end of a one month long Ramadan fast which was a period of self discipline and sacrifice and it calls for solemn reflection on the lessons of the holy life lived by Prophet Mohammed.

“I appeal to politicians to see politics as an avenue to serve and not to be served as is unfortunately the case in our setting.
