Advocacy for True Federalism: Alake Highlights Akeredolu’s Struggle

In a condolence message, Mr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, praised the late former governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, for his unwavering commitment to the establishment of true federalism.

Alake expressed his condolences to Akeredolu’s family, the people of Ondo, and his loved ones on Thursday. The passing of Governor Akeredolu occurred on Wednesday while he was receiving treatment in a German hospital. He was 67 years old.

The minister lauded the late governor for carving a distinctive reputation as a bold and unyielding advocate for the interests of the people of Ondo and the Yoruba nation.

“I am profoundly shocked by the loss of a brother, friend, and indeed one of the leaders in the progressive movement. During his tenure as the State Governor, he prioritized the welfare of the people as the focal point of governance,” Alake remarked.

He further expressed that Nigeria has lost a remarkable figure, but finds solace in the fact that Akeredolu has left an indelible mark in the political landscape.
