Nollywood actress Didi Ekanem has strongly criticized singer Rema for his tribute to the late singer Mohbad.

According to a report by Vistanaij Media, Rema faced backlash after sharing a screenshot of a message he received from Mohbad.

In his tribute, Rema admitted to ignoring Mohbad’s message on his Instagram page in 2020, where Mohbad expressed his admiration for Rema’s song “Peace of Mind.” Rema stated that he only noticed the message after Mohbad’s passing and acknowledged that it was now too late to respond.

Didi Ekanem called out Rema for not ignoring direct messages from American singer and actress Selena Gomez but choosing to ignore Mohbad’s message.

She sarcastically commended him, saying,“No be only I never saw your DM. But you saw Selena’s own. You try”

Many people agreed with Didi Ekanem’s viewpoint, highlighting the prevalence of pride and elitism in the industry.

In the message, Mohbad had praised Oxlade for his singing talent and expressed his admiration for him. Unfortunately, Oxlade ignored the message and even restricted Mohbad from contacting him.

In an apparent attempt to mitigate the situation, Oxlade removed the post from his Instagram page and shared a different screenshot of a conversation between him and the late singer.
