“You’ve Lost your Musical and Political Career” – Man Confronts Banky W

Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, recently lost the House of Representatives election seat for Eti-Osa constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Thaddeus Attah from the Labour Party emerged as the winner of the Saturday election, marking Banky W’s second loss in the same constituency. He had previously contested with the Modern Democratic Party in 2019.

In response to his loss, a social media user named Oriretan Honour ridiculed Banky W by making derogatory comments about his career. The troll alleged that Banky W’s music career ended when Wizkid left his record label, Empire Mates Entertainment, and that he faded from the movie scene after AY stopped producing the Wedding Party movie.

Oriretan further mocked Banky W by suggesting that he pray against village people or allow his wife, Adesuwa, to be the head of the house as his hustling seems to be in vain. The troll’s comments were seen as disrespectful and inappropriate by many social media users.

Despite the criticism, Banky W has remained positive and resilient. He expressed his gratitude for the support and encouragement he received during his campaign and promised to continue fighting for positive change in his community.

He wrote; “Banky W, your music career went down when Wizkid left. Your acting career went down when AY ended Wedding Party. Joined politics, lost contest twice. Why not pray fervently against ‘village people’ or consider house-husband let Adesuwa be doing the job & footing bills? Hustling not for u.”

At the Model Nursery and Primary School in Marwa, Lekki 1, the returning officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, declared the Labour Party as the winner of the poll for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
