Toyin Abraham explains her support for Sanwo-Olu, citing her success as a millionaire in Lagos as an Edo woman

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, has reiterated her support for the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the APC’s Governor of Lagos State, despite facing criticism for her stance. In a recent tweet, Toyin hinted that her success story as an Edo woman is linked to Lagos state, where she became a millionaire. She wrote, “Lagos State where I became a millionaire as an Edo babe. Sanwo Again. Sanwo Eko. Good governor. My choice.”

Toyin Abraham received social media backlash after she publicly expressed her support for president-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and some of her fans threatened to boycott her movies at the cinemas. However, she maintained that her choice of candidate was her free will, and she was not paid to campaign or vote for any political party.

In a recent statement on her Twitter page, Toyin made a conditional statement in her native language, which implied that if she received payment to vote, her fans’ desires would affect her. She also prayed for protection against death. The statement reads, “If I collect money, your wish will come to pass on me, but if it’s just my choice and nothing more, forgetting the person that eats gbi can’t die. I Oluwatoyin, good I will not die, and my star will not fall into the water.”

Despite the criticisms, Toyin Abraham has remained unmoved in her support for Governor Sanwo-Olu, whom she describes as a good governor
