Touching Moment as New Kogi Deputy Governor Bows Respectfully to Yahaya Bello and His Wife at Swearing-In Ceremony

During the official swearing-in ceremony held on Saturday, January 28, 2024, Salifu Joel Oyibo, the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Kogi State, displayed a remarkable act of humility towards the immediate past governor, Yahaya Bello.

After taking the oath administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Josiah Majebi, Oyibo and his wife approached Bello and his spouse, expressing their deference and respect through a humble gesture.

In an uncommon display of humility within the political landscape, Oyibo’s wife even knelt before Bello and his spouse.

Oyibo, along with Governor Usman Ododo, emerged victorious in the governorship election held in November 2023.

However, Ododo’s initial actions following his inauguration have raised some eyebrows, as he made notable appointments that included individuals closely associated with Bello, such as his loyalists, nephew, and certain commissioners.

One particular appointment that has sparked discussions is that of Ali Bello as Chief of Staff, given his ongoing trial for an alleged ₦3 billion fraud.
