Supreme Court Directs INEC to Implement Ruling Acknowledging Njoku as APGA Chairman

The Supreme Court has instructed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take action on its decision recognizing Chief Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The Court has sent a Certified True Copy (CTC) of its judgment in the APGA leadership dispute between Njoku and Chief Victor Oye to the electoral body.

The CTC of the order, which was received by INEC’s Litigation and Prosecution Department, contained the seal of the Court and the signature of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.  The Supreme Court had on March 24 acknowledged that it had mistakenly written Chief Victor Oye’s name as national chairman of APGA in a 2021 judgment.  In response, Njoku had filed an application urging the apex court to correct the typographical error in the judgment.
