According to Vistanaij Media, the Super Eagles secured their spot in the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win against Cameroon.

Adeniyi Johnson expressed his no-nonsense attitude on his Instagram page, questioning how he could travel all the way to Cote d’Ivoire only to lose a match. He humorously mentioned that if Nigeria had lost, he would have resigned as the Assistant Coach. He confidently predicted a 3-0 victory for the Super Eagles against their next opponent, Anglo, while playfully mocking Ghana.
