South Africa’s national football team, Bafana Bafana, secured a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-finals by defeating tournament favorites, Morocco, 2-0 on Tuesday. This victory followed a surprising upset the previous night, with hosts Cote D’Ivoire eliminating champions Senegal in a penalty shootout.

South Africa took the lead in the 57th minute with a goal from Magokpa, while Morocco had a chance to equalize late in the game with a penalty, but Achraf Hakimi missed the opportunity. In added time, Mokoena scored another goal, sealing a significant win for South Africa as they progressed to the next round.
