Vice President Kashim Shettima expressed optimism on Wednesday, stating that the worst of the economic challenges is behind us in the current situation.

During the official launch of the National Design and Innovation Competition at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Shettima praised the role of young people and their creative abilities in shaping the future of Nigeria. He assured that the federal government would create a conducive environment for their success.

Regarding the economic situation, the vice president declared that “the worst is over” and predicted that the value of the national currency, the naira, would continue to stabilize in the upcoming weeks and months. He highlighted the administration’s focus on addressing issues such as food security, nutrition, and insecurity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

Shettima emphasized the importance of youth and creativity in driving innovation and manufacturing, stating that Nigeria is brimming with possibilities and opportunities. He reassured the government’s commitment to supporting youth aspirations and entrepreneurship, commending the financial institutions for their support of the creative sector.

Furthermore, the vice president announced plans to incorporate young innovators into the government’s $617.7 million Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) program, demonstrating the administration’s dedication to empowering and investing in the youth.
