Senator from Oyo Mourns the Passing of Olubadan, Acknowledges His Enduring Legacies

Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, expressed his heartfelt condolences over the demise of Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland. Senator Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, shared his sentiments through a statement released on Friday, highlighting the enduring legacies that the late monarch has left behind, which will be cherished by many for years to come.

Oba Balogun, who passed away on Thursday, served as a representative of Oyo Central Senatorial District from 1999 to 2003 before ascending the throne.

Senator Alli emphasized that the late monarch’s contributions and legacies are indelible, underscoring the monumental loss that his passing represents.

“It is not only a significant loss for the people of Ibadan but for the entire state. Oba Balogun’s reign, though relatively short, made a profound impact in fostering unity, progress, and community development,” Senator Alli expressed.
