Security Operatives Assume Control of INEC Office in Lokoja, Heightening Tensions

In response to reports of an alleged plot by suspected arsonists to set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, security operatives have assumed control of the office premises.

According to information gathered by Vistanaij Media, personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, and other security outfits were observed on-site, accompanied by their armored personnel carriers, in order to prevent any potential invasion of the INEC office.

Additionally, it was discovered that the usually bustling post office, known for its thriving daily business activities, now remained deserted.

As a result of the heightened security measures, vehicular movement in the area was restricted, leading motorists to seek alternative routes, particularly those heading towards Abuja, Nataco, and Felele.

Vistanaij Media also recalls that one of the political parties had accused another party of allegedly sponsoring thugs to vandalize election materials within the premises of the INEC office.
