Security Forces Successfully Rescue 52 Kidnap Victims in Sokoto

In a highly coordinated operation conducted by the troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), a total of 52 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued in Sokoto State’s Isa Local Government Area.

The Nigerian Army shared a statement on its official X account, highlighting that this operation was part of the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and conduct clearance operations within their designated areas of responsibility.

The operation took place on December 22, 2023, during which the troops cleared and dismantled terrorist hideouts in Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest in Isa LGA.

According to the statement, the OPHD troops were able to rescue 52 individuals who had been kidnapped. Among the rescued victims were 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children. They will undergo medical examinations, debriefing, and subsequently be handed over to the appropriate authorities to facilitate their reunion with their families. Additionally, several terrorists were neutralized during the operation.

This successful rescue operation demonstrates the commitment and effectiveness of the security forces in their ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and protect the lives and well-being of the citizens in Sokoto State.
