President Zelensky Urges Donald Trump to Visit Ukraine Amid Russia War

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has extended an invitation to former United States President Donald Trump, urging him to visit Ukraine and share his proposals for resolving the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Zelensky expressed his desire to hear Trump’s ideas during an interview with Axel Springer on Tuesday. However, he made it clear that he was not interested in Trump’s suggestion that Ukraine should give up significant portions of its territory as a means to end the war.

In Zelensky’s words, “If the deal is that we just give up our territories… then, it’s a very primitive idea. I need a real idea because people’s lives are at stake.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. military announced on Tuesday that it had delivered a collection of small arms and ammunition to Ukraine. These weapons were seized from Iranian forces who were attempting to deliver them to Houthi rebels in Yemen. The cache included over 5,000 AK-47 assault weapons, rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns, sniper rifles, and more than 500,000 rounds of ammunition. The U.S. Central Command stated that these weapons would aid Ukraine in defending against Russia’s invasion, providing enough resources to equip a brigade.
