Ten secondary school students have been arrested by the Zimbabwe Police for attending an indoor party.

Among those apprehended are eight minors who are currently enrolled in school, while the other two are dropouts. Their ages range from 14 to 16 years.

The party took place at 12 Browning Road in Bradfield, Hillside, Bulawayo, and reportedly involved the consumption of alcohol and substances for smoking.

According to a statement from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), “The ZRP has arrested ten juveniles aged between 14 years and 16 years at a vuzu party at number 12 Browning Road, Bradfield, Hillside, Bulawayo. The majority of the juveniles are from two local schools, while two are school drop-outs.”

Some of the students were found smoking shisha, a substance which is currently being verified by the CID Drugs and Narcotics. The police are now in contact with the parents and school authorities of the juveniles. Further details will be provided in due course.

Vuzu parties are notorious for being wild indoor gatherings organized by teenagers. These events often involve excessive drinking, drug use, and unprotected sexual encounters, sometimes with multiple partners.
