The Nigerian Federal Government has reasserted its commitment to improving access to education for citizens.

This assurance was given by Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, during the inauguration of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Surulere Campus in Ojuelegba, Lagos.

Dr. Sununu stated that the establishment of the campus aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point agenda, which emphasizes the importance of accessibility to education. He urged the university’s management and prospective students to make optimal use of the provided facilities. The campus’s expansion aims to create more opportunities for individuals to pursue their academic careers within their local communities.

“As the Federal Ministry of Education, we want to ensure that we fully comply with President Tinubu’s eight-point agenda,” Dr. Sununu emphasized. He further assured that the government is committed to ensuring that the certificates obtained from the university are highly regarded and esteemed.

Mr. Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the university’s programs will equip both young and adult learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
