National Assembly Assures Staff Welfare Will Be Prioritized – Akpabio

During the 9th National and States Assembly Service Commissions Conference held in Abuja, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, assured that the National Assembly would prioritize the welfare of its staff.

Represented by Sen. Danjuma Goje (APC-Gombe), Akpabio acknowledged the welfare challenges faced by the staff and emphasized that the 10th National Assembly would provide support.

Akpabio stated, “Staff welfare will be supported by the assembly,” affirming the commitment to address the welfare issues. He highlighted that while the primary role of parliament is to enact new laws and improve existing ones, the National Assembly will also focus on empowering and developing people.

The Senate President emphasized the importance of training, retraining, and capacity building for staff members. He called for a team spirit and encouraged providing the best support for legislators to make the country proud. Akpabio expressed the aspiration for the 10th National Assembly and State Assemblies to be recognized as a turning point in the nation’s lawmaking process.
