Minister Urges Staff to Increase Service Delivery Efforts in 2024

Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has called on the staff of the Ministry to redouble their efforts in order to meet President Bola Tinubu’s target of reducing poverty in the country.

In a statement issued by her media aide, Mr. Rasheed Olanrewaju, in Abuja on Thursday, Edu emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, hard work, and dedication to duty in the task of lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

The minister also urged humanitarian stakeholders to renew their commitment and support in order to lift vulnerable Nigerians out of the poverty index by 2030, aligning with the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Edu emphasized that the president is committed to eradicating poverty and reducing humanitarian challenges before the end of his administration. She stressed the importance of setting clear goals, maintaining focus, transparency, and accountability in all dealings, while prioritizing the welfare of the poor in intervention programs.

Edu reassured Nigerians of the ministry’s determination to work diligently to fulfill the presidential mandate on poverty alleviation.
