A South African man, who goes by the Twitter handle @shwabade, recently shared a story about an incident that helped him discover that his girlfriend was not financially stable. According to him, he returned from a football practice feeling famished and informed his girlfriend that he was hungry. However, at the time, there was a power outage in the area, which would make it impossible for him to cook.

His girlfriend offered to order food for him and have it delivered to his house. He accepted the offer, and the food arrived 25 minutes later. However, she had arranged for the delivery to be made on a cash-on-delivery basis, which meant that the boyfriend had to pay for the food upon delivery.

When he realised what had happened, @shwabade was shocked and expressed his surprise that his girlfriend could not afford to pay for the meal, which cost 140 Rands. The incident made him realise that she was not financially buoyant, and this was a significant revelation for him.

It is common for couples to support each other financially, but this incident highlighted the importance of being honest and transparent about one’s financial status. It is crucial for partners to communicate and manage their finances effectively to avoid any misunderstandings and trust issues in the future.
