Kizz Daniel and Davido’s Twe Twe Remix makes Afrobeat history despite criticism
Davido, the Grammy-nominated artist also known as David Adeleke, achieves another milestone by featuring on Kizz Daniel’s latest song.
Vistanaij Media reported that the duo collaborated on a remix of Kizz Daniel’s popular track, Twe Twe, which was released a week ago. Unsurprisingly, the song has already gained immense popularity and set records by becoming the fastest Afrobeats song to surpass 100,000 Shazams within just 7 days.
One Big Tumzy wrote, “Baddest to all
One Kween Mimi wrote, “Baddest for a reason
One Rhebekka Uti wrote, “Awwww! Things I love to see
One Mhiz Tomi wrote, “Isakaba”.
This news arrives amidst substantial criticism, particularly regarding Davido’s lyrics. Twitter critic Daniel Regha expressed his disappointment with the collaboration, claiming that while the original song was already subpar, Davido’s involvement made it even worse. He further highlighted Davido’s seemingly pointless rhymes and his comparison of a woman’s body to a natural disaster.
Regha also pointed out another distasteful line in Davido’s remix, where he compared a man’s emotions to a tricycle (kekenapep). In conclusion, Regha rated the entire song and its remix a dismal 1 out of 10.
Despite such criticism, the song continues to thrive and garner positive reception.
