The ex-President stated that he led a contingent of fellow members from the Joint African Union (AU) and Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Mission to Zimbabwe. The purpose of their mission is to observe the electoral process, and he expressed his anticipation for a meaningful and rewarding experience.

“I thank the Zimbabwean Government, the AU and COMESA as well as Ambassador Zachariah Ifu and other officials of Nigerian High Commission, for a warm reception,” he stated.
