Emmanuel Jime, the former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), has clarified that Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has not appointed anyone to speak on his behalf in the Presidential Villa.

Jime made this statement during an interview with the Vistanaij Media in Makurdi. He was responding to allegations made by the state’s party zonal chairmen in a statement, claiming that he was part of a committee recruited by Alia to misrepresent the Benue APC in the Aso Rock Villa and the National Secretariat.

Jime explained that those making such claims lack an understanding of how democracy functions at the executive level. He emphasized that a sitting governor has direct communication with the President as the chief security officer and the leader of the state party, rendering a spokesperson unnecessary.

He further highlighted the need for a focus on development in Benue, stating that the distraction strategies employed by politicians seeking personal gain hinder the progress of the state. Jime called upon all well-meaning individuals to join Governor Alia’s development agenda for the betterment of Benue.
