Laycon, the winner of Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ and an aspiring singer, has addressed the issue of bullying in the entertainment industry.

In an interview with Punch Newspaper, the rapper and singer expressed that he does not consider himself someone who can be disrespected easily because he carries himself with self-respect.

Laycon mentioned that he is surrounded by people who love and care for him, and the atmosphere they create is positive. He emphasized that he avoids negative environments and removes himself from situations or conversations that would bring negativity into his life.

While Laycon acknowledged that he personally hasn’t faced bullying from his industry colleagues, he acknowledged that it does exist in the industry.

He clarified that the bullying he has encountered has been primarily from online trolls.

“I don’t think I am someone people can talk to anyhow because I don’t move that way. Naturally, I have a lot of people around me who love me and care for me. The energy we give out is always positive. I can’t be in that space, I take myself out of situations or conversations that would put me in that space.

The bullying I can talk about is from online trolls, I can’t talk about industry bullying because I haven’t experienced it. The bullying I have experienced isn’t the physical bullying but more of the online trolls”.
