Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has expressed his contentment with the decision reached by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld President Bola Tinubu’s triumph in the presidential election held on February 25th.

This statement was conveyed through a press release signed by his spokesperson, Mr. Ismaila Uba-Misilli, on a Wednesday in Gombe.

Governor Yahaya, in his assessment of the verdict, hailed it as a significant “triumph for democracy and the truth.” He further noted that President Tinubu’s win serves as a confirmation of the people’s unwavering trust in his leadership qualities, abilities, and demonstrated capabilities over the past three months.

“The decision by the tribunal to dismiss the petitions presented by the People’s Democratic Party, Labour Party, and People’s Democratic Movement is a reinforcement of the people’s will and the transparency of Nigeria’s electoral system.

“This victory is a testament to the strength of our democracy, the resilience of our institutions and the belief of our people in a brighter future,” he said. 

Yahaya, who also holds the position of Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, expressed that the president’s win has opened the door for him to continue delivering high-quality leadership for the benefit of all Nigerians.

The governor extended his congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) family and commended the legal team that represented the president and the party. Additionally, he praised the intellectual prowess of the judges and the judiciary for their meticulous handling of the petitions, thereby upholding the integrity of the Nigerian constitution.

Governor Yahaya highlighted that the careful scrutiny of the election results during the review process has confirmed their validity.

In reflection on President Tinubu’s first 100 days in office, Yahaya remarked that the president has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to taking decisive actions in addressing the nation’s challenges.

“The government of Gombe State wholeheartedly supports the president’s vision for a better Nigeria and believes his leadership represents renewed hope for the nation,” he added.

The governor appealed to all Nigerians to come together in support of the president and his team. He emphasized that the president is diligently working towards realizing the collective hopes and ambitions of Nigerians by guiding the nation towards prosperity.
