Governor Uzodimma Mourns Ezeife's Death, Calls it a Significant Loss for Nigeria

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of former Anambra governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, stating that Nigeria has suffered a significant loss.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku, Governor Uzodimma described the late elder statesman as a consistent advocate for good governance and progressive politics.

Ezeife, fondly known as Okwadike of Igboukwu, served as the first democratically-elected Governor of Anambra from 1992 to 1993. He passed away at the age of 85 on Thursday at the National Hospital in Abuja.

Governor Uzodimma emphasized that Ezeife’s presence and influence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He praised Ezeife’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of both the common man and the privileged, stating that he was a man driven by a desire to serve God and humanity.

The governor acknowledged the indelible legacies left by Ezeife as a former governor, Permanent Secretary, and Political Adviser. He also emphasized that the late statesman’s voice and contributions to matters of good governance in his state, Nigeria, and society as a whole will not be forgotten easily.

Governor Uzodimma concluded by offering prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed and for strength and comfort to be granted to the grieving family during this difficult time.
