Governor Ododo Vows to Uphold Ongoing Efforts in Ensuring Security in Kogi State

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed his unwavering commitment to combat any threats to the security of lives and property in the state.

In a statement issued by Ismaila Isah, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Governor Ododo addressed journalists following a closed-door meeting with the chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas in the state. The meeting aimed to discuss strategies to mitigate risks to security across all parts of Kogi State.

The statement, released on Sunday morning, highlighted that Governor Ododo recognized the significant achievements made by the previous administration in curbing insecurity within the state. He emphasized the need to sustain the existing security architecture to ensure lasting peace and stability.

Governor Ododo stated, “Considering the successes achieved by the immediate past administration of my predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in tackling the issue of insecurity in the state, we must continue to prioritize the security of our people and their properties.”

He further emphasized that the government’s top priority is the security of lives and property, affirming his administration’s commitment to leaving no stone unturned in protecting the people of Kogi State.

“I have reiterated to the local government chairmen that security remains our foremost concern, and we must be prepared to take every necessary measure to safeguard every corner of Kogi State. This is a non-negotiable matter,” Governor Ododo asserted.

The Governor urged the local government chairmen to intensify their efforts in securing all communities within their jurisdictions. He emphasized the importance of maintaining close contact with the people, as they serve as primary sources of intelligence for effective security interventions by the government.
