Following the adjustment in the petroleum pump price to N617 per litre by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) in Kano has set the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at N620 per litre.

Initially, in the morning, filling stations were selling the product at prices ranging from N540 to N550 per litre.

The official announcement of the adjusted pump price by NNPC to N617 per litre created a frenzy among motorists, leading to a rush at filling stations to refill their tanks. However, before noon, most filling stations that were previously selling at N540 or N550 per litre had stopped dispensing fuel.

Surprisingly, by 4 pm, the filling stations reopened and began selling fuel at the new pump price of N620 per litre.  Vistanaij Media observed a decrease in traffic on the streets of Kano, as many car owners were forced to park their vehicles due to the inability to cope with the higher fuel price.

Despite attempts to contact the state chairman of IPMAN, Bashir Danmallam, for further information, no response was received.
