Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has come to the defense of his fellow English colleague, Tonto Dikeh, following criticism from fans regarding her review of his latest film.

Tonto, who made headlines on Thursday for publicly calling out NDLEA, shared her impressions of the movie “Jagun Jagun.”

In her review, Tonto revealed that it had been more than 10 to 12 years since she last watched a Nigerian film, and she was deeply moved and impressed by “Jagun Jagun.”

Describing it as an exceptional movie, she commended the entire crew and cast for their outstanding work.

Tonto made it clear that she has no personal connection to any of the individuals involved in the movie and watched it solely based on recommendations from her international friends.

“This is my review for My very first watched Nigerian movie in over 10/12 years.

I was shook. I think this is an amazing movie. Don’t personally know anyone in this movie from production to crew. But I watched it on popular demand via my international friends and I must say I AM FLABBERGASTED!!!
Weldone to the producers, crew, and cast!!”.

The movie star faced backlash from many after her statement that she had not been watching Nigerian movies and was not acquainted with the cast of “Jagun Jagun.”

In the comment section, Femi Adebayo expressed his gratitude to Tonto Dikeh for her review and appealed to the critics to moderate their criticism.

Coming to her defense, he clarified that Tonto’s intention was simply to convey that she didn’t have any personal bias or close connections with the individuals involved, and therefore her judgment of his movie was not influenced by sentimentality.

“Thank you Tonto. Guys please the word personally. In this context means we are not close hence no sentiment in her review. Pls let it be. Thank you so much. I appreciate you all”.

In response, Tonto expressed her desire for them to develop a better understanding of each other.

“My brother let’s use this energy to know ourselves. Pls forget these people. I appreciate you sir”.

Nkechi Blessing also joined the discussion, criticizing the critics for their failure to comprehend the situation.
