Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino conceded his team’s defeat to Liverpool, acknowledging Liverpool’s superiority in their 4-1 loss at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Reflecting on the match, Pochettino admitted, “It was so clear they were much better than us. We lost every single duel. Every time we recovered the ball, after the first or second touch, we lost the ball.”

He acknowledged Liverpool’s well-deserved victory, emphasizing the dominance Liverpool displayed throughout the game. Despite a tactical adjustment in the second half and a goal from Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea struggled to match Liverpool’s performance.

Pochettino commented on the match events, saying, “Then we score, 3-1, and maybe a penalty on Nkunku provides us with a possibility. But nothing to complain about with the decision. It is only that they were better than us. It was bad luck for us, but that does not change the feeling that Liverpool was better than us.”

The defeat places Chelsea in 10th position with 31 points after 22 games.
