EFCC Conducts Raid on Dangote Head Office, Emefiele Reveals

On Thursday, operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) conducted a search at the Lagos Head Office of the Dangote Group, according to reports from Vistanaij Media.

The purpose of the search was to investigate forex allocations to the company during the tenure of Godwin Emefiele as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, refrained from providing any comments regarding the ongoing operation at the Dangote Group’s office. However, an employee from Dangote confirmed that EFCC operatives were present at the company’s head office.

The employee revealed that the EFCC officials requested documents related to forex transactions between the Dangote Group and the CBN. The focus of the search appears to be on examining the forex allocations made to the company during the period when Emefiele was serving as the CBN Governor.

Further details regarding the nature and scope of the investigation have not been disclosed at this time. It remains to be seen how the EFCC’s search at the Dangote Group’s office will unfold and what implications it may have for both the company and the individuals involved.
