De Gea Rejects Transfer to EPL Rivals

David de Gea has declined the opportunity to make a return to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, as per The Athletic.

The Spanish goalkeeper recently departed Manchester United just seven months ago. However, with Nottingham Forest showing signs of uncertainty in their goalkeeping department, particularly with Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos, they sought a new goalkeeper during the January transfer window.

Forest attempted to attract De Gea, who is currently a free agent, to the City Ground. Intermediaries proposed a potential short-term deal to De Gea’s representatives, suggesting it as a chance for him to showcase his skills and attract a bigger move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reportedly, De Gea wasn’t keen on the proposal. Consequently, Forest opted to sign Matz Sels instead to bolster their goalkeeping options.
