In a recent interview with the Sun Newspaper, Bimbo Ademoye, an award-winning Nigerian actress, bravely shared her experience of facing exploitation from moviemakers.

Bimbo Ademoye disclosed how certain filmmakers and producers attempted to exploit her by pressuring her into compromising situations in exchange for movie roles. However, she firmly refused to succumb to their demands.

In light of her statement, Bimbo Ademoye revealed that a significant number of moviemakers approached her with roles that didn’t align with her comfort zone. She disclosed that many of them wanted her to portray characters in movies such as the seductive role, the mistress, or the character involved in snatching someone’s husband. However, she boldly turned down these movie roles.

“To be honest with you, everybody wanted to make use of the body. Everybody wanted me to play the sexy secretary or the girl that snatched someone’s husband, or the one that snatched the other person’s boyfriend. I can say that I have been very lucky.

I came into the industry through Uduak Isong. I didn’t experience the issues of sleeping with producers because of roles and I have never slept with anybody for that. She was more like a mother to me when I started.”
