A man believed to be an informant for bandits, known as Dan Abba, has been apprehended by vigilantes in the Bishini village market in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State. The incident occurred last Thursday when the suspect attempted to sell a stolen cow at the market.

According to Ahmadu Sajo, a resident of the neighboring Azzara village, the suspect is suspected to have provided information to the bandits involved in the recent abduction of herders and cattle rustling incidents in Kuchimi, Haying-Dam, and the Gidan-Makeri area of Kagarko town.

The local troops had declared the suspect and other fleeing suspects as wanted individuals. However, luck ran out for him when he was caught with a stolen cow at the village market last Thursday. The suspect, along with the stolen cow, has been handed over to the troops. The vigilantes are now working to track down the location where some of the stolen cows may be kept.

Ahmadu Sajo stated, “The vigilantes suspected that the cow the suspect brought to the market might be among those that were stolen two weeks ago from a village in Kagarko LGA.”

As of the time of reporting, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, SP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for comment on the arrest of the suspect.
