Asake’s double win creates history at 2023 Headies Awards
Fast-rising singer Asake had a remarkable night at the recently concluded Headies Awards, making history in the process. According to Vistanaij Media’s report, the 16th edition of this prominent music award ceremony took place on Sunday night at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta.
The event, which aimed to celebrate Afrobeats and African culture, saw the participation of numerous A-list artists from across Africa. Titled “Celebrating African Renaissance,” the show proved to be a historic occasion for Asake, as he achieved unprecedented success and shattered records at the awards.
Asake’s accomplishments include being the first artist to win both The Next Rated and Album of the Year on the same night. Furthermore, the singer of the hit song “Lonely At The Top” joins the ranks of Simi, Asa, and Kizz Daniel, who have previously won the Headies Album of the Year with their debut albums.
